Who are we?
We are Sharifa and Kim, the proud owners of Waiti Kubuli. Our journey began years ago whilst working together in the hospitality industry. We quickly discovered a shared passion for gastronomy, hospitality, and creating extraordinary culinary experiences. What started as a professional collaboration soon blossomed into a close friendship and a shared dream: to open our own restaurant where flavour, creativity, and personal attention come together. With the opening of Waiti Kubuli, that dream became a reality!
The meaning behind Waiti Kubuli
Waiti Kubuli is the ancestral name of the Caribbean island of Dominica, Sharifa’s birthplace. Dominica is often confused with the Dominican Republic, but it boasts its own distinct culture, history, and culinary traditions. The rich flavours, vibrant ingredients, and warm hospitality of this remarkable island form the inspiration and foundation of our restaurant concept.

At Waiti Kubuli, we bring the vibrant flavours of the Caribbean to the Netherlands, elevated into a unique fine dining experience. To us, Caribbean fine dining means an innovative and sophisticated tasting menu crafted exclusively with high-quality ingredients, seasonal produce, and meticulously balanced flavour combinations.
Our multi-course menu changes every six to eight weeks, ensuring our guests can always look forward to surprising dishes and new culinary discoveries. We dedicate equal care to our food, personal service, and ambience, ensuring a truly welcoming experience.

We believe that fine dining should not feel distant or formal. That is why we combine refined gastronomy with the warm, relaxed, and hospitable atmosphere for which the Caribbean is renowned. Our private dining room ideally accommodates up to 16 guests at a single table. For close-knit groups who don’t mind a cozier setting, we can accommodate 18 to 20 guests.
Whether you are hosting a birthday, anniversary, graduation, corporate gathering, or family dinner, we ensure a culinary experience that elevates your event. Together, we will discuss the possibilities to create an evening that meets your exact requirements.

The Terrace at Waiti Kubuli
As soon as the sun comes out, it is time to take a seat on the terrace at Waiti Kubuli. During the summer months (weather permitting), our sunny terrace is open from Thursday to Saturday from 14:00 onwards. It is the ultimate spot to enjoy excellent food, exceptional drinks, and a relaxed Caribbean vibe. Whether you join us for a leisurely afternoon drink, a sunny afternoon lounge, or a relaxed start to your evening, our terrace is all about the art of enjoyment.
Drinks in the Sun
Our terrace menu features a rotating selection of homemade light bites, inspired by the flavours of the Caribbean and prepared with fresh, premium ingredients. It is the perfect setting for a sun-drenched lunch, drinks with friends, an afternoon of cocktails, or a relaxed start to a night out. Furthermore, we fire up our Tagwood grill to serve delicious barbecue dishes cooked over an open flame for that signature smoky flavour profile.
